Komyo Church hosted a farewell party for us. Church members, English students, and friends came to bless us and send us off with love. The youth, dear sisters and brothers from Kongo Bible Church, and dear friends all took their turn singing blessings. It was wonderful.
We have been back in the US for a month, and we continue to adjust. Elijah is registered for school, had his senior picture taken, and received his driver’s permit. He is looking forward to soccer tryouts on August 22, and school starts September 6. We are thankful for God’s continued protection and daily support. Our kids have been asked to adjust a lot in their young lives. God’s provision and protection continues over them as they journey through these adjustments and changes humble us and fill our hearts with thankfulness. Please continue to pray for Elijah. He is facing these adjustments with an open heart to see what God has for him.
The NAB does give us time at the beginning of home assignment to rest and adjust and accomplish the long checklist of things that have to be done, but this is the first home assignment that we have actually taken this opportunity. It is a challenge to not have a schedule, but it has allowed us to be available to help family and spend time with them, along with rest. We are extremely thankful.
Changing routines doesn’t come quickly as we prayerfully sit with the Lord about the next year’s changes and beyond. Please pray with us as we seek God’s guidance, direction, and courage for this year and beyond.
Paul has scheduled church visits through February 2023. Please contact Paul (pemedicus@yahoo.com) and let him know when and how you would like us to visit. We do look forward to spending time with you all to say thank you and share in a deeper way what God has been and continues to do in Japan. We truly appreciate how you all have continued to support us.
Thank you for your faithful prayer and financial support.
Grace and Peace,
Paul & Melissa Ewing
