Dear Family and Friends,
It was my birthday, a good time to reflect on the past and think about the future. It’s my last year as home school coordinator. After home assignment, I will be teaching teachers (and I’m very excited), so the home visits this year have been times of bitter sweet farewell. No longer will I encounter strange pets, meet village friends, or help kids with their science experiments. I will miss these experiences supremely.
Shifting and distributing 20 plus years of teaching aids and books has consumed many hours. Do you know anyone who wants orange burlap, (the rage of the 60’s!), dozens of pictures of American monuments, or 26 baseball gloves? How about 75 assorted games with names like pollination? The missionary families want to keep the library operational but with my role change I will not be able to do it. Ideally, there should be someone to replace me, but God has not provided that person yet. Could it be you?
God has provided all sorts of answers to prayers these past months! Many answered prayers concern my parents who moved suddenly from Edmonton to Calgary. God provided a dementia ward for mom in 3 days, an independent living place for dad in a week, and the sale of their condo in 2 weeks. Two months later, God brought them both to the same facility demonstrating his unfailing love. God also allowed me to share an awesome trip with Mom in May and spend Christmas with my whole family in Canada. Like the song, God has provided “faith for one step more.”
