Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from Kansas City! We are in the States for a short home assignment and the time is flying by. The Triennial Conference in Sacramento was one of the best we’ve experienced. We were encouraged to hear what God is doing both in North America and in many areas where our NAB missionaries are working. We’ve also enjoyed visiting a few of our supporting churches, friends and family. Unfortunately, our time is short this time because Dennis doesn’t have physician coverage to be gone longer from Mbingo.
Of course, a highlight of coming home is seeing all our family. We enjoyed a few days together in Silverthorn, Colorado. Here is everyone on Lake Dillon. (L-R adults: Ben, Jonathan, Dede, Erin, Dennis, Nancy, Karen, Ted; kids: Wyatt, Evelyn, Sierra, Kaiya, Eli)
Our biggest praise item is that Ben and Janielle Nordell and their two young children are leaving this week for Mbingo! It will be so good to have them there as youth pastor and pediatrician. Dennis says the babies at the hospital will now have much better care, not to mention he won’t have to oversee the peds ward.
We are also happy to report that the long-dreamed-of Mbingo hydro-electric project is moving ahead. The contract has been signed between the hospital and the engineering company, and nearly half the needed 2.2 million dollars has been raised. We are raising the remaining funds through the NAB Special Projects and the Capital Fund for Missions (which was launched at the Triennial). To partner with us in this endeavor, you can send a check to the NAB International Office, or give online at http://nabconference.org/give/special-projects and click on “Cameroon Hydro-electric project Mbingo.”
Thank you for your prayers and support!
Dennis & Nancy
