Dear family and friends,
Greetings in the mid-summer! We thank God that we have completed some of the medical body check-ups and started church visits and ministries, sharing across Canada.
Immanuel Baptist Church in St. Catharines, Ontario, is one of our supporting churches, which the last time we visited was 18 years ago. We are thrilled to visit and worship together with the congregation again and see some old friends.
We met Joseph, a believer, who attended the church while we were serving in China. He and his family immigrated to Brandon, Manitoba, a few years ago. We had the opportunity to visit his family this time. Joseph told us that there are at least 1,500 Chinese-speaking people living in Brandon. However, there is no single Chinese church in the city. Joseph and some other Chinese families gathered to worship in a local Baptist church. And they have regular Bible studies in his home. He sincerely shared with us that he had tried his best to seek a Chinese-speaking pastoral leader for their group in the past few years but without success. We are thankful for Joseph’s solid faith to follow Jesus. Meanwhile, we pray for God’s provision and calling that the Chinese churches in Winnipeg have vision and passion to extend evangelism and discipleship to the Chinese-speaking group in Brandon, Manitoba.
In the past few months, we greatly appreciated the hospitality and warm care from churches and individual supporters with whom we visited and shared our ministries. On the other hand, we apologize that we are unable to visit all supporting churches in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and the United States. We will continue visiting churches in Alberta in August and September and look forward to seeing some of you in person.
At the time of writing, we plan to return to Japan in the end of September after our passports are renewed in Canada. We are grateful for your continued prayer and all kinds of support. Thank you for your walking with us in the mission journey.
