Most of the networks we work with in Latin America have a component to take training to pastors and churches who might not normally receive training. The following are a few stories of the efforts our field coordinators are involved in.
Paraguay
Maximo Toledo teaches indigenous pastors in villages outside San Lorenzo, Paraguay. He is a Bible Training Center for Pastors trainer who brings the classroom to the remote villages each week. There is great pride among these pastors when they hold one of their annual graduation celebrations! The training he brings is the only access these pastors have to theological education. CrossPointe Community Church has supported this work for many years!

The Amazon
Matias Buldain from Argentina took his first team to the Amazon several years ago. They began to work in the jungle region between Venezuela, Brazil, and Colombia. Going deep into the jungle, they visited village pastors and initiated a training program among them utilizing in-person training annually and ongoing virtual training through cell phones.

This month, Matias will return for another training seminar, and he is bringing other pastors from the IBM network along with him. Geronimo Tamez from Guadalajara, Mexico, and Israel Contreras from Queretaro, Mexico. We have worked with both of these pastors for many years, and Geronimo is a student of HFC/Kairos.
Argentina
Last month, Lucio Gallo and David Vargas from ESEF in Salta, Argentina, journeyed north into the mountainous province of Jujuy to hold a training seminar in an indigenous village there.
