The past few months have brought new partnerships and opportunities for our mission here in Brazil, as well as visits from partnering churches in North America.

RumoPlan Launch Event
In June, our mission held its launch event for a new church planting network called RumoPlan. We partner with a local Southern Baptist Convention missionary in providing resources for churches to recruit, train, and support church planters, as well as the church planters themselves as they go about their ministry. We had over fifteen different church plants represented with our opening event, and already our network has distributed over 800 Bibles to church plants! As we think long term, we are praying that God will use this network to bolster and care for those who are planting churches in a region that can be very difficult. We are in our opening stages but are hoping that God will bless this venture as we reach out to connect church planting ministries to each other and help them with training, discipleship, mentoring, and pastoral care.

In August, we officially rebranded Kairos Brasil as Projeto Etos. Etos is the Portuguese word for ethos, and each letter in the word stands for part of our Kairos ministry: to equip, train, orient, and serve. With our new partnership with the Independent Baptist Theological Seminary of the South (STBISUL), we wanted to give our Kairos ministry a new beginning, as well as a new name. We are welcoming up to six new Kairos students this fall from the STBISUL community to begin on master’s and doctoral programs. Our long-term hope and prayer is that among these first six students will be future administrators and mentors of Projeto Etos, who can in turn help train others in their journey of discipleship.

As we come to the end of this newsletter, I think of all the hopes, dreams, and long-term goals we hold tightly in our souls. This life is often one of transition and change, with plenty of launches and misfires along the way. It’s rarely easy but often satisfying. And it would be impossible alone. Thank you for being part of our team – our partners in ministry. Thank you for your emails, your prayers, and your financial gifts. We never take any of them for granted. Through all the changes, God’s promises and grace remain firm, and you are part of that!
Blessings,
