Dear Family and Friends,
The last few months have been a season of activities and anticipation. Because of your pr*yers, we are strengthened to live and serve abroad here. Every day we learn to put our trust in our Father by remembering that HE is always in control and HOPE always comes from Him. Thank YOU very much for lifting us by your fervent intercession and all kinds of support and caring.
In addition to our regular outreach and discipleship ministries, there are some highlights in the past few months:
May 15-20: Rev. Alan and Judy Steier have been with us. Their warm visit to our home encouraged us in many ways. We are thankful that our Father used their seminars about sharpening interpersonal relationship to attract over 40 students from two suburb universities. Through the Steiers’ valuable sharing and open discussion, participants were benefited in interpersonal relationship enrichment. We praise the Lord for His wonderful guidance to our service together.
May 22-26: We took a visit to a national evang*list couple whom we have been supporting. They serve a minority ethnic group dwelling in a mountainous area about a 13-hour train and bus travel from our city. Despite sensitivity of religion in that area, we had the privilege of making visitations, conducting B*ble studies and children SS, and singing hymns in their local dialect together. We pr*y that our faithful Father protects the national evang*lists in the midst of adversities and strengthens them to face daily challenges.
June 17-26: We traveled and visited like-minded friends and students in three other provinces. Some of them became believers at the summer camp last year. While the purpose of the trip is to encourage them to stand firm in their faith, we are thankful for having an opportunity to meet their families and build friendship. We rejoiced and especially treasured the opportunity to lead them to study His Word.
July 8 – Aug 10: There were several summer camps which had about 100 student participants. Through a variety of activities such as games, drama, messages, small group discussions, etc., the participants were guided to reflect on their growing paths, what they have regretted or had unpleasant experiences in the past and how to turn from their old ways of living into a new direction of their lives in the future. Nick had the privilege to serve as one of the speakers at the camps. We praise our Father that a student, Wang, committed his life to JC during the camp and several students have started to think about our faith seriously.
We do not take the success of all above events for granted. Your continuing pr*yers and walking with us in the journey make His wonderful work possible. From September, we will help students from a university start a fellowship group outside campus. Please pr*y for our Father’s direction, provision and protection.
With love and appreciation,
Nick and Iris
