“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:7

The CFR team has been put into action and stepped out in faith to “Open the Doors 2018.” We are continuing to pray for the building permits so that we can run camps this summer on the property. Please continue to pray with us for the permits to be in place and the water/sewage project finished and two duplex cabins built. If we can complete this we will be able to officially open the doors to the camp and run summer camps on property for the first time!

The main focus for the past two months has been the renovation on the farmhouse. This past month it has been painted, doors have been installed, flooring was put down, and the bathroom was finished. The kitchen cupboards will be arriving the first of April and installed then. Beautiful solid wood bunkbeds were purchased and set up in the farmhouse – it now sleeps 16. This is a great addition for accommodating rental groups and to house staff/volunteers at the camp. Gloria had a fun day when she took Tamas shopping for bedding for all the new beds – they bought out two Jysk stores!!!

This past month, Vern has been busy working on a handrail for the retaining wall and building a wood shed for the farmhouse. He also had some fun with the birch trees on the property by turning them into coat hangers. The guys have been fixing up an old root cellar to make it more user friendly for storage. They’ve installed flooring and siding and are just about finished. It looks so good that the team has been trying to convince the guys to not use it for storage but to turn it into a coffee house instead!

Our first team of seven arrived from Alberta April 2-14. This team consisted of farmers, a pastor, and two young lads that stayed on with us for another month to help out at the camp. Great to have a few extra hands to help us in this busy season. While this team was here we toured some of the local farms. It was great to see some of the projects started or completed at the camp, the patio work began at the lodge, a woodshed was built, some painting was finished. We held a youth event in the church here in Sventkiraly while the team was here; we were very encouraged to see over 80 youth turn out for a night of worship, a message from Pastor Clayton, and some yummy snacks after. We are gearing up for another construction team arriving from Edmonton on May 5.

Thank you again for the love, support, and prayers! ~Vern & Gloria Wagner
