AUTUMN 2014 was Spectacular!!! –the weather –the beauty of nature –the produce — the harvest — I love it!!
I’ve had the privilege of traveling through the heartland of both Canada and the USA during harvest and it has been truly exciting for me. In fact, I was able to ride inside a combine and actually be a part of corn harvest –awe-inspiring!! Being in the prairies during autumn and hanging out with Farmers who KNOW that they are part of a dynamic partnership with God in their profession, has been exciting for me! I appreciated AGAIN the truth of scripture: “You may say that there are still four months until harvest time. But I tell you to look, and you will see that the fields are ripe and ready to harvest.” John 4:35 Isn’t it interesting that for us, we sense that there is a narrow window of time to bring in the harvest, but from God’s perspective, the harvest is ALWAYS ready!!
The key is to LOOK and then we will see the fields that are ‘ripe and ready for harvest!’ Harvest is all about partnership (us with God) — isn’t it. Our job: to LOOK…then His job: to open our eyes to SEE…or in Matthew 9:37-38 we’re reminded that the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. SO, our job: to pray for workers …then His job: to send out the workers. When we lose perspective, we mistakenly think ‘it is all up to US!’ For me, ‘home assignment’ means visiting my friends and relatives …my partners in ministry with a message of — ““Thanks a million! This happened (and IS happening) because of your partnership with me in the gospel!!!”
You truly understand that the way to accomplish MUCH for Christ is to serve Him in ANY way you can, and that is EXACTLY what you are doing. Thank you for your perseverance!
This Christmas may you truly experience Emmanuel…God with us! I am trusting the Lord with you, that He who BEGAN A GOOD WORK WITHIN YOU, will complete it!! Feel hugged!!
