Summer camp is in full swing. The last three weeks, our NAB team has organized a middle school camp, teen camp, and youth camp. We were blessed with a great team made up of local Hungarian and Canadian volunteers. The theme for these three weeks – the life of King David.
The campers are kept busy with many games and team challenges; on hot days, the slip and slide was a busy spot.
Having the Canadians with us gives the campers the opportunity to participate in English classes. They are amazed by how many of the campers know some English.
The campers are served delicious Hungarian food prepared by the amazing ladies in the kitchen. One of the highlights of the week is always the homemade donuts (fánk) – they beat Tim Hortons any day!!!
Vern has been busy helping keep everything running smoothly around camp. Most recently, he’s been welding railings for the staircases and retaining wall at the new lodge.
Obed has been hard at work preparing the walls in the new kitchen.
Zoli has been chopping plenty of wood to keep us well stocked for the winter.
And Gloria can always be found in the laundry room, tackling a mountain of bedding every week.
Life carries on for the CFR crew!
The next six weeks of camps will be organized by different churches. It’s wonderful to see so many adults, youth, and children enjoying the facilities at Camp Falcon Rock.
