The past month has flown by! There’s so much to share—and at the same time, so much we’re still processing. As many of you know, this was our final summer in Romania, and tomorrow (August 2), we board a plane back to Canada. As we reflect, our hearts are full of gratitude—for the incredible ministry that took place during our Camp Falcon Rock summer camps and for the overwhelming love we’ve received through countless goodbye gatherings and farewells. Let us share a few highlights with you.
Summer Camps
In July, we hosted two Camp Falcon Rock-led camps: one for junior high students and one for youth and young adults. This year marked an exciting transition, as we handed leadership over to two of our amazing, local staff members, Miriam and Robi. From registration to theme development, from staff training to camper discipleship, they led the entire program—and they did an absolutely incredible job! We are so proud of them and eager to see how God will continue to work through them in the years to come.
In addition to Miriam and Robi, our team included local volunteers and 12 international volunteers—an all-star group that made it easy and joyful for Paul and me to step back and watch God work through them all.
One of the most encouraging moments came as we saw many of our long-time junior high campers—some who started coming 5–6 years ago—graduate into the youth and young adult camp. Watching them grow in faith and maturity reminded us of the future God is shaping at Camp Falcon Rock. Many of these youth are already expressing a desire to serve at camp in the future!

Goodbyes
At the end of June, Camp Falcon Rock hosted a goodbye celebration for us. We were deeply moved by the words of encouragement and love shared that day. Pastors, young leaders, youth, and children came to celebrate all that God has done over the past 11 years. What struck us most was how incredibly faithful and good our God is. When we first arrived in Romania, we never could have imagined the journey He would lead us on. His vision was far greater than what we had imagined, and we feel honoured to have been a small part of what God has been doing in Romania through Camp Falcon Rock and the Hungarian Baptist Conference churches this past decade.
In addition to the farewell service at camp, we had the opportunity to go to many of the churches we’ve served with for one last visit. And just this past week, we hosted a BBQ at our home for the youth and young adults from Szentkiraly—a beautiful and bittersweet evening. While our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to dear friends and spiritual family, we know that God is still powerfully at work in this place, and we’re eager to see what He continues to do.

Looking Ahead
As we return to Canada, we’re stepping into a season of rest and reflection, seeking God’s guidance for what’s next. While we don’t have all the answers yet, we trust that the One who has led us this far will continue to lead the way. We’ll share more updates with you as we settle in and discern next steps. What we do know is that the mission in Romania will continue on under the incredible leaders staying, like Camp Falcon Rock directors Tamas and Tunde Modi and our village ministry leaders Miriam and Robi. We know God has great plans for these individuals and even more for the mission He is on in Romania.
We want to thank you all for your partnership over the past decade! This community has been such a blessing to us on a lot of different levels. We are truly humbled by the generosity shown us by all of you. Thank you for your love, care, and support! We will be continuing on as NAB missionaries until the end of January to allow us the time to transition the field well and visit our supporting churches. In the fall, we’ll be sharing more information about how you can continue support the work in Romania as we transition off support.
Thank you for journeying with us and for continuing to support this mission in Romania. Your prayers, encouragement, and partnership have meant so much to us.
We love you all.
Grace and Peace,
