HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We look forward to a new year and are very thankful that we can sit back and enjoy the sunrises here and know that God is in control.

We have just returned to Romania after a quick trip home. Vern’s mom was diagnosed with a type of ALS a few months back. She was admitted to a hospice in Red Deer the first of December and passed away on January 5. We are so thankful that we could spend her last days with her and our family. It was a special time of hearing stories from her and seeing her faith in Jesus; she told us many times that she was ready and at peace and, as she said, she had 90 good years. Vern’s dad will stay at the care facility in Lacombe. He is well cared for, and his wood projects keep him busy.

There is a lot happening at the new lodge: preparing beams for the ceiling, framing in the fireplace, prepping the drywall on the ceiling for mud and finishing, starting more electrical and heating in the coming weeks, building walls in the main washroom, and building partition walls in the dining hall. It is so good to see all these contractors here, as each step is one step closer to having this main lodge ready for the day when they officially open the doors.

Paul and Tanya organized a Winter Camp at the camp over New Year’s for young adults. Around 75 attended. A fun time was had by all as they brought in the new year. They were thankful for a large fireplace in the new lodge so they could meet and have worship there.

Our first team of the year arrives the middle of February. This group of young adults will help with a Mini Camp for young teenagers at the camp.

Again, thank you for your prayers and support. We are thankful to be in Romania serving at Camp Falcon Rock.

Blessings to all.

’Til next time,

Vern & Gloria Wagner
