Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

We wanted to take a moment to share an update with you as we continue settling back into life in Canada after our big transition from Romania. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and continued support during this season of change—we’ve truly felt God’s hand guiding us every step of the way.

The Szentkiraly Youth and Young Adults drove us to the Budapest airport at 4:00 a.m.!

Our Journey Home

Praise the Lord—we made it back safely to Canada with all our bags and our dog, Lucy! The trip didn’t go quite as planned, as we ended up getting stuck in Budapest for five extra days. Despite confirming many times with the airline, we discovered that Lucy was too big for the original plane. After a few chaotic days of phone calls, finding a smaller kennel, and working out new travel arrangements, we finally boarded a plane big enough. We were so thankful when we landed safely in Canada—tired but grateful!

Family Reunions

Our first weeks back were spent in beautiful British Columbia with Tanya’s family. It was a much-needed time to rest, reconnect, and process the many bittersweet goodbyes we had said in Romania. Afterwards, we headed to visit Paul’s family and even got to celebrate our niece’s wedding—a joyful day made even more special because Paul had the privilege of officiating the ceremony.

Back to Europe (Briefly!)

Soon after our time with family, we actually returned to Europe for an NAB missionary conference. It was an impactful gathering where we connected with fellow NAB missionaries and national partners to discuss the future of NAB missions. It was extra special to have Tamas Modi join us for this event!

Once the conference wrapped up, we took a short trip back to Romania for the weekend. Two of our youth and young adults, Robi and Florian, were being baptized—and we just couldn’t miss it! What a joy it was to celebrate with them and to serve in the church service. Being back in the village, surrounded by familiar faces, felt like we had never left. It was a beautiful reminder of the deep relationships and ministry fruit that have grown over the past decade.

Settling In

Since returning to Canada in mid-September, we’ve been adjusting to life here and getting our home back in order. After discovering it needed a bit of TLC following our renters’ stay, we’ve been busy painting walls, laying new flooring, and unpacking boxes one room at a time. Slowly but surely, it’s starting to feel like home again.

Looking Ahead

In the midst of all this, we’ve also had the opportunity to attend NAB mission conferences and visit several of our supporting churches. It has been such a joy to celebrate all that God has done over these past ten years in Romania and to share how He continues to work through Camp Falcon Rock. We’re looking forward to connecting with many more of you in the coming months as we travel across Canada and the US.

Thank you again for your continued prayers, love, and partnership. We’re so grateful for each of you and your continued support!

Grace and Peace,

Paul & Tanya Gericke
