This summer, we have experienced God moving in our midst in great ways. As always, the kids who have to attend boarding school away from Mbingo get to come home for summer break. I taught some of them dominoes and Skip-Bo! We also enjoyed other ways to play with the dominoes. 😊

In the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC), Founders’ Day is celebrated annually on June 29. This day commemorates the anniversary of the CBC Women’s Department, which was established in 1957. This year, we inducted four women into our Women’s Department. The 3-H girls added a great part to the program. We are blessed to have such a large group of 3-H girls; 3-H stands for Head, Heart, and Hands for Jesus. It’s a strong and relevant discipleship program for young girls.

The latest summer event was a three-day crusade at the new church plant of our Mbingo 1 church. The new church is in a village called Isaibal, about one hour away. The church’s name is Peace Mission Baptist Church. During the three days, there was a medical clinic conducted by many of our hospital workers from Mbingo. There were home visitation and night services Friday and Saturday. It ended on Sunday morning with its first official worship service. There were 32 people total who have decided to give their lives to following Jesus. We are so excited to see what God is going to do there in this unchurched area!

We thank God for this harvest of souls this summer! May the Lord continue to send more workers for this harvest, and may He be glorified throughout this village!

(Small side note: we had 18+ inches of rain in July! Here’s my new hi-tech rain gauge; I’m still carrying on Pat Lenz’ rain log she started in 2001 with a plastic container on a bamboo stick!!)
