Dear Family and Friends,

Greetings in the blossomy spring season!

In April, a two-day outreach event has been held successfully in the rural area close to a beautiful mountain. There were thirty participants, and we are very thankful that we have met many young people through a lot of activities. Sharing of interesting life stories with each other made the five-hour steep mountain hiking journey light and delightful. Games, songs, food, frisbee, dancing, stargazing, as well as meaningful testimonies and heart-to-heart conversations have fully occupied both days. During these in-person activities, we seized every opportunity to build relationship with them and encourage them to withstand various life challenges that they are facing.

Most of the participants, coming from other provinces, are either studying or working full time. They shared with us their struggles and loneliness to live in this fastest paced city of the country. With high cost of living, they have to work very hard to keep up with the competitive labour market and career environment. Incessant long working-hour demand, namely 9-9-6 (9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., six days per week) is prevalent to various types of job positions for both Generations Y and Z. Unfortunately, the ages of 35–40 are commonly the time for them to become unemployed despite their previous work experiences, as their employers realize that their physical bodies are no longer able to fulfill the high demand of long working hours. Following the worldly ways at the expense of morality, some of them are eager to make use of shortcuts so that they can achieve rapid success in their careers.

G*d opened the door and we had the privilege of sharing our faith and perspectives of ethics and integrity. We treasure young people as their generation are turning to be the most significant influencers of the nation. As the seed of Good News has been sowed in their hearts, we pr*y that G*d helps the seed grow so that young people would respond to His love in His time. Despite the fact that all nationals have been instilled with atheistic education since childhood, the Good News is the power of G*d and no man is able to hinder it.

Besides the April outreach activities, we are thankful that our counselling and discipleship ministries are ongoing in both online and in-person ways.

We sincerely appreciate your continuing pr*yers, love, and all kinds of support. Thank YOU very much! Your intercession and encouragement make our service possible. We pr*y that G*d’s protection, peace, and strength be with you and your family amid the pandemic.

Happy Mother’s Day!

With love and gratitude,

Nick & Iris
