Prayer
- Please pray for protection and health for Deise as she works on the frontlines of COVID-19.

- Please pray that we can launch the Kairos Project in August 2020.
- Please pray for Lyndell as she begins her PhD research: that God would lead her to good literary resources and evangelical churches where she can do her fieldwork.

Habakkuk 3:17–18
As our new school year got off to a start at the seminary at the beginning of March, suddenly we were notified that the building we meet in would be closing indefinitely and social distancing, which rapidly turned into self-isolation for the majority of us, would be put into practice. We are very thankful that our seminary already uses Zoom to teach our classes since the majority of our students do not live close to the seminary. All that was necessary was adapting one professor and five seminary students to move to a completely online format. My office has always been in the apartment where I live, so that didn’t change. My colleague and I continue to work on bringing the Kairos Project from Sioux Falls Seminary to Brazil. COVID-19 did cancel two trips for my colleague and I, but thankfully we are still able to do a lot online.
Like Seminary, our church has started meeting through Zoom, which we broadcast live on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ibniteroi). It has helped to keep our church in contact with one another. We use WhatsApp to keep in touch with everyone, too. We have also added an extra service a week to focus more on prayer, as well as a 24-hour prayer vigil. We are very thankful to the Lord that none of our seminary students or church members have gotten the coronavirus. One of the seminary students, Deise (pronounced Daisy), works on the frontlines and God is protecting her and giving her many extra opportunities to share her faith and pray with colleagues and patients during this time. However, the executive director of the Brazilian Baptist Convention, Pastor Socrates, does have the virus. He spent weeks in the ICU and is currently 
still in the hospital recovering. The President of Brazil’s wife is a member at the church where Pastor Socrates pastors.
Lyndell finished her first year of doctoral studies and her dissertation proposal has been approved. The next step is starting literary research and fieldwork.
