Hello friends and family both near and far,
Here we are, writing our very first newsletter as newly appointed missionaries with the North American Baptist Conference to serve in Romania! Thank you to everyone who has already committed to pray and/or support us financially. We were appointed back in December and have been learning the ropes of support raising, writing newsletters, and handing out prayer cards, and are receiving an abundance of encouragement from our family and friends.
Within a week of being appointed, we received an email from Crosspointe Christian Church in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, inviting us to be a part of their annual mission conference in March. We were thrilled! And then we realized we should probably make sure they knew that we haven’t actually been on the field yet. To our relief, they knew what phase of the process we are in and were very excited to have us join them.

We grabbed a quick picture with our sweet hosts, Norm and Marilyn, from Crosspointe Christian Church in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, before we headed to the airport to return home.
The conference included four NAB churches who come together every year to put on the event. The weekend was full of meeting so many new friends. We were able to share our story at breakfast, brunch, and two Sunday School classes. Activate Game Center was a great place to have some fun with the youth and other missionaries. We were honored to be invited to the weekend’s events along with four NAB missionaries, each of whom have all been on the field for fifteen or more years. What a joy it was to meet everyone and be encouraged by their stories of God’s faithfulness in their corners of the globe.

Although we are just beginning our missionary journey, we have learned so much already to get us to this point. Trust the Lord. Trust his timing for everything. Full surrender to Him brings freedom. Freedom from worry and wanting to have all the answers right now. God is the author of our story, and he is asking us to trust him for the current chapter that we are in. We praise him for all the provision, opportunities, and open doors he has already given us and are excited to see what’s around the next corner. An opportunity to go to Romania at the end of August to meet the team has been presented to us, and we couldn’t be more excited! This will give us a chance to meet the people we will be working with and get a better picture of what our ministry of discipleship and church planting will look like amongst the Hungarian churches. Do we know how to speak Romanian or Hungarian? Nope, but I have it on good authority that Jon enjoys listening to Romanian language videos while showering and is teaching me what he’s learning. It’s been a lot of fun!
We would love to have you be a part of our story if you aren’t yet! Would you pray for us? Would you pray about becoming a financial supporter of ours? If the Lord is putting it on your heart to support us, you can follow our journey and learn more at the link below.
In Christ and for His Glory,
