Udo’s Story

Published on November 06, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

Our last teacher for 2014 is now in Russia, in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky. His name is Udo.

Udo is from Latvia, trained at the Baptist Seminary in Ukraine, did advanced study in music in Russia and now serves a church in Sacramento, California. Udo assisted the Billy Graham meetings in Russia in the 1990’s. A world class musician and now a pastor and also the director of Russian Christian videos, Udo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classes he teaches in our program at the Learning Centers of the Moscow Seminary. Music is vital to Russian Christians. However, many have not added newer styles of worship to their services, so they tend to lose many of the young people.

Udo is teaching a class of pastors out in the coal country of Russia. These students will learn and experience different types of worship…from ancient to modern. Pray for Udo as he teaches this month.

Praise God for the sixteen different classes taught this past year, and for the many American and Canadian teachers who have traveled into Russia to teach.

We will be meeting with Peter Mitskevich in Sacramento shortly to plan for the coming year. Because of faithful giving on the part of many in our NAB churches, we will be able to send even more teachers this coming year. Sacramento is now the home of a new Learning Center for Moscow seminary, providing formal training for pastors and teachers who serve Russian Speaking churches in Northern California.

In December we are sponsoring a marriage retreat for the directors of the Learning Centers in Russia. Most directors also serve their local churches as well as the local center. Family can suffer. We hope this seminar will help strengthen the marriages!
