October is upon us – the month that we enjoy cooler days, leaves turning, the smell of fall in the air, and most importantly we celebrate Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for – a busy but rewarding summer with many children/youth on property, our family in Alberta plus our family here in Romania, good health, each of our supporters that give and pray for us so we can be here at Camp Falcon Rock to continue to see His Kingdom Built. “Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise, give thanks to him and praise his name” Psalm 100:4.

August started off with church groups renting the camp to run their own programs, lots of activity and laughter on the property. We had a construction/VBS team from the US join us for two weeks in August; the construction crew worked on a second water reservoir, a new wood shed, and stained many sofit boards for the wood shed. The VBS team were involved with VBS in a neighbouring village where the children were overjoyed to have this team there and lead VBS. We enjoyed meeting this team and seeing their heart for the ministry here at Camp Falcon Rock.

The last group that rented the Camp in August was a group from Oradea (about 1 hour from us). There is a group of adults in Oradea that have started a program for under-privileged children; these children may be in foster care, live with grandparents, or in a not good home situation. One little boy took a liking to Vern; he was fixing the lawnmower one day and this little guy was right there willing to help. One of those melt-my-heart moments. The day that these children went home, this little guy came up to Vern and gave him a big hug and waved all the way out the driveway. This is why we are here folks – even if we make a difference in one child’s life, that is all that matters.

We received a seacan container from Canada; it has been a long process but we are thankful that it arrived safely and the CFR crew was overjoyed to all that was inside! We thank each one that donated items and also to everyone that helped with the packing and shipping of the container. What a blessing for years to come at Camp Falcon Rock!

The annual Thanksgiving service was held here at the camp again in September. We are thankful for all the willing volunteers that helped us get ready plus helped us on the day of; we saw around 500 people come to give thanks for all that God has done.

The CFR crew has been working on finishing the wood shed; work continues on the water reservoir, Tamas and Tunde’s house, and getting the camp ready for winter. We have a few rentals already booked at the camp for the fall. It’s great to see the camp being utilized throughout the year.

May each of you be blessed as we give thanks and praise his name.

Till next time,

Vern & Gloria Wagner
