Debrief and Renewal

Published on August 06, 2014

Dear family and friends,

I am spending a lot of time in my 2000 Mazda driving around Alberta this summer. It has been a blessing to visit many partners of the gospel in the churches that are praying for me and supporting me. I’ve been enjoying meeting many brothers and sisters in Christ who are prayer warriors.

Debrief and Renewal—I went to Colorado Springs to attend a week-long debriefing time for missionaries in May.  It was a good experience to fellowship with other missionaries and also to reflect on my first term in Japan. I was reminded that I am a third-culture kid as a Japanese-Canadian and that I have a unique contribution to make on the mission field.  I was also encouraged by spending quality time with God and hearing his message of affirmation and admonition for the days ahead.  His message to me was to go to my “roots” and “plant myself in the house of the Lord” from Psalm 92: 12-15. Since that time I have been enjoying a renewal in my devotional life.

Visit to the International Office

I was able to visit the new NAB International Office in California for the first time and meet many of the staff members. It was a pleasure to finally meet everyone there in person.  I am happy to report that my financial support is in good standing.  I am also encouraged that the NAB is seeking to recruit more missionaries to Japan! So, if you, or anyone else you know is interested in serving in Japan, please contact the NAB International office.  We are looking for both Defined Term and Career Term missionaries.
