Dear Family and Friends,

Thank YOU everyone for lifting us up by your fervent pr*yers.  Without your continuing intercession, our ministry is impossible.

HE  listened  and  answered  YOUR  pr*yers

A pr*yer request about Lai’s father has been shared in our February letter.  Early this year, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and was pending the physicians’ decision of further medical treatment.  HE is awesome and did incredible things!  Because of YOUR pr*yers, the physicians found that all cancer cells have vanished and Lai’s father was confirmed to be infected by a lung disease from an examination a week ago!  On the one hand, we thank G*d for His healing upon Lai’s father; on the other hand, it urges us to seize every opportunity to share the Good News about him.  Lai’s father and family are non-believers.  We pr*y that Lai’s family would respond to the Lord through experiencing His love and healing.

Good  Friday  and  Easter

Praise the Lord!  Good Friday and Easter services for two groups of university students were amazing.  This season is truly one of the most wonderful times of the year to share and reflect on His great and unconditional love to us.  Having studied the Scriptures and watched a short video about the passion of Chr*st, we had an inspirational meditation to His seven sayings on the cross under the candlelight in the Good Friday evening.

“Coincidentally”, the power supply was suddenly cut off at that very moment in the entire community!  Branches of candlelight broke through the full darkness of the whole room and reminded us that the Light conquered the darkness of our lives in our deep hearts.  We are thankful that HIS plan and time is always the best.  Then each of us made a commitment and shared how he/she would live out a different life to respond to His great love.  Just as Watchman Nee said, “Our old history ends with the Cross; our new history begins with the resurrection”, thank you Jes*s!

Hiking

During the national Labour Day weekend, backpack hiking on a mountain of 3,000-metre high was a delightful activity to build up friendship with 36 students.  While praising Father for His marvelous creation of the nature, we are thankful for the privilege to share our faith with them along the trails.  After a day of going uphill, a freezing-cold overnight at the mountain peak, and the next day of trekking downhill, our fatigued bodies were exhausted but our hearts were overflowing with joy.

A  min*stry  exploration  trip

An ethnic minority group ministry exploration will be from 22nd to 26th May.  The result of information collected prior to the trip shows that there are great needs in that group of people.  While the majority of the group receives little education, financial scarcity is a common problem almost for each family.  Theft, alcoholic addiction, drug abuse, and prostitution are prevalent in that area; even worse, the rate of their HIV infection ranks the highest among the entire country.  Meanwhile, traditional religions and superstition are their major beliefs.  Please pr*y for our trip, that Father will guide and show us what to share and how we can serve and bring the Good News to the group in the future.

Thank you for your many pr*yers and support,

Nick and Iris
