Kisses from Katie is a story of Katie Davis’ relentless love and redemption.

I was introduced to this book through the Jan.-Feb. edition of e-Java Moments (an e-newsletter of the NAB Women’s Ministry). I loved reading about the courage of a young teenager who was courageous enough to follow God’s ‘call’ on her life and go to live and serve in Uganda. She promised her folks that she’d come back for college, but before she did, she started an organization that cares for children on many levels (Amazima) AND by age 22, had legally adopted 12 young girls! WOW!! Katie understands the truth of the verse in Romans, “to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.” In almost every prayer letter, I have asked you to pray for me to BE the hands & feet of Jesus AND that I would have ‘eyes that see & ears that hear’ so I would know where and to whom I am to serve. Since coming home, I have met people all around me who are in need of someone to take action to help them. It is a high privilege to become the hands of God and respond on His behalf, like Katie Davis did. Who around you needs a ‘touch’ from God that only you could do?  One way you have been His touch is to me by your prayers…THANK YOU for blessing me by praying for…

  1. ME…my health, travel, transition: Health— GREAT!! Neither colds nor flu! PLUS, my left leg has improved due to the help of a local doctor.  Travel—LOTS!   But thanks to your prayers, it is DO-able & the people and churches along-the-way have been OUTSTANDING!!! Warm, hospitable, loving, accepting!  PLUS I am getting a BONUS by meeting friends & former students all-along-the-way!!   Transition—I have six months of traveling left and then…what?  I am not sure, so PLEASE continue to pray for me about what is next for me!!
  2. Potential Missionaries…I’m keeping an eye out for those God is ‘calling out’ & I’ve talked to several interested but one who has said yes to taking ‘next steps’! PTL! Keep praying about this request in particular & help me LOOK!
  3. Being a Good Steward: Thanks for your prayers on this especially! God has brought opportunities and prepared me for them in His typical ‘timely’ manner – like, me agreeing to speak at an International Students group and it just happened to be a farewell for a group of Japanese students, or agreeing to help a pastor with a weekend full of special workshops while there was a death that he had to tend to. Thanks to your prayers, I was prepared to step in when he couldn’t and help him ‘steward’ the situation! Actually EACH stop has had situations like this (big & little) – thanks to your prayers, they have all been manageable!

I covet your prayers for good health and good connections throughout these months.

Grateful-to-God-for-you!!  Feel hugged!!
