Dear Family and Friends,

The past few months have been eventful for us. In July, we graduated three residents from the CIMS residency. Each will serve in one of the CBC hospitals. We believe that they will each provide medical and spiritual leadership in the programs where they work.

In early September, a new CT scanner was installed at the hospital. This is the end of several years of work to find the resources to pay for the machine. A new imaging area was recently completed. This project represents a major advance for our patient care. Prior to this, we usually needed to send patients 6-8 hours to the nearest functioning scanner. In the few weeks it has been functioning, life-saving diagnoses have been made for several patients.

On August 12th, Nancy and I had a triple celebration at Mbingo: my 70th birthday, our 50th wedding anniversary, and our “almost” retirement. We had a great time with the staff of the hospital and many missionaries and Cameroonian friends that came to celebrate with us. We had great food and good music, including a jazz band, a first for us there.

Thank you for your partnership with us in the ministry here.
