Blessings at Komyo Church

Published on May 06, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

Happy spring!  Isn’t it wonderful watching the earth come back to life after a long winter?!  I love the flowers and trees growing and blooming-not so much the blowing pollen, though.  This spring has been full of blessings at Komyo Christian Church.  Thank you for your prayers.  Here are a few highlights…

In February, Yoko joined our church.  She became a Christian while in the US and was baptized there.  We are happy to welcome her into our Komyo family.  One of the gifts she uses is translating for our bilingual service.  Then, in March, Miss S was baptized and joined our church!  Her bright smile warms the room when she enters.

We enjoyed our annual sushi dinner on Easter Sunday as we celebrated the resurrection.  We were sad to say goodbye to Yuri, but know it is just for a year as she travels around Canada and the US sharing about what God is doing in Japan.

Thank you for praying for our ladies’ lunch in February.  Around 15 ladies gathered as we talked about running the race set before us.  I was encouraged that two ladies who are not yet Christians from gospel choir joined us.  Our Gospel Café in March was an evening of music and fun, and, of course, food!  Five people who had never attended an event or class at Komyo came that evening.  Praise God!

We are excited about Komyo members desiring to volunteer in the neighborhood.  Several ladies have been visiting the nursing home just behind our church regularly, and as a church, we go bi-monthly to volunteer with the residents.  God is working all around!

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers for us!  Please see the prayer request section for upcoming events and prayer points.  As I have said in the past, your prayers mean more to us than we can express in words.  Thank you!

Soli Deo Gloria, Shan in Japan
